PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES
1.1 The school establishes, with the common efforts of the stakeholders, a clear written statement of philosophy and objectives that reflects the school’s core values and expectations for high quality education, and the statement gives direction to the school policies, procedures and programs.
To meet the standard the school shall
- Draft its Statement of Philosophy and Objectives with active participation of members of the Governing Body, the Head of School and representatives of staff, students and parents.
- Base the Philosophy and Objectives upon the needs of students and the challenges the students will be facing in the future.
- Determine that the Objectives are entirely consistent with the Philosophy.
- Express the Philosophy and Objectives in a simple and direct way so that they can easily be understood and memorized.
- Ensure that there is a strong degree of consistency between and among the school’s Philosophy and Objectives, policies, procedures and programs.
1.2 The school communicates in various ways its Philosophy and Objectives to build stakeholder understanding and support.
To meet the standard the school shall
- Display prominently the Statement of Philosophy and Objectives in classrooms, offices and other school premises.
- Publicize the Statement of Philosophy and Objectives in the website as well as in publications that provide general information about the school.
- Organize activities aimed at helping the stakeholders understand the Philosophy and Objectives.
- Gain enthusiastic support from the staff, students, parents and other stakeholders in accomplishing the Objectives in the light of the Philosophy.
