NCCT Accreditation of Schools for Children of Foreign Nationals
The Working Protocol
Chapter One General
Article 1 In order to regularize the accreditation for schools for children of foreign nationals, this Protocol is hereby formulated in line with the Administrative Permit Laws of People’s Republic of China and the related rules and regulations. It is also in accordance with the Notice by the Ministry of Education Regarding the Responsibilities, Administrative System, Organizational Structure and Staffing of the National Center for School Curriculum and Textbook Development of the Ministry of Education and the relevant regulations issued by the Ministry of Education on the approval and management of schools for children of foreign nationals.
Article 2 Schools for children of foreign nationals (herewith “schools”) referred in this Protocol are the educational institutions approved by the educational authority of the State Council, which enroll children of foreign nationals staying in China and provide secondary school education (including regular secondary schools) as well as lower levels of education. These schools have Chinese legal person status.
Article 3 The accreditation refers in this Protocol is a process that both the educational accreditation organization and the school go through, in accordance with certain standards, by undertaking self-study and visits by external peers to the school in order to encourage the school to do self-study and self-assessment to improve the quality.
Article 4 The National Center for School Curriculum and Textbook Development of the Ministry of Education of China (herewith “NCCT”) shall use the Chinese language when sending documents and formal letters to schools. Both English and Chinese shall be used as working languages during accreditation visits.
